Located in the heart of Moravia, Olomouc is known for its charm. Olomouc is more than 1000 years old and is home to about 100,000 people. The city was the capital of Moravia and has a rich history which can be seen throughout the city through memorials, ancient buildings and churches, beautiful fountains, stunning parks, and charming streets. Olomouc hosts festivals throughout the year and has a young, vibrant energy. 

About Palacký University Summer School
Central Europe: History and Culture - Architecture and Society Program


"Do you want to broaden your horizon and travel? Do you want to meet new people from all around the world and develop yourself academically? Then this is the summer school for you!

After the success of the first edition, Palacký University Olomouc is glad to announce the second edition of SSCE which will take place between 21/7/2018 and 19/8/2018.

This comprehensive summer school will give you great insight into European culture and architecture, while at the same time giving you the opportunity to spend time in the heart of Central Europe: the city of Olomouc.

Included are trips to three central European capitals:
  • Prague, Czech Republic
  • Bratislava, Slovakia
  • Vienna, Austria
Next to that, the SSCE 2018 will organize other activities aimed at giving you a thorough understanding of Central European history, knowledge which will prove invaluable in the current era of globalization."

Moravian students are able to take this program for 6 ECTS.
